The Lego Caterham was Carl Greatrix’s dream. He submitted his Seven design to the Danish company’s Ideas platform, where it garnered the required 10,000 votes, after which Lego’s team put it into production. The resulting set stands 3.9 inches tall and 11.0 inches long and consists of more than 770 pieces, including a replica 620R engine and a proper gearshift. It also has a removable nose cone, engine cover, steering wheel, functioning axle stands allowing the wheels to be removed, and a trunk that opens.
Lego’s latest will hit the shelves on October 1, priced at $79.99.
